Liz Fothergill CBE
Chair of Pennine Healthcare, immediate past president of East Midlands Chamber of Commerce, Liz is a business board member of the D2NP LEP and Chair of Derby Book Festival. Liz has been involved in Derwent Stepping Stones for over five years and is driven by a passion for better outcomes for all children.

Richard Massey
Vice Chair
Richard has been involved with Stepping Stones for over a decade wanting to put something back to the community. He feels the first few years of life have a huge impact on our futures and Stepping Stones helps make that difference.

Lisa Richards
Lisa is Accountancy and Business Services Partner at Dains in Derby and has over 20 years experience in advising owner managed businesses locally. Active in the Derby business community, Lisa is a Non-executive Director of Marketing Derby, Chair of Derbyshire Prohelp and is a board member of a number of local charities. Lisa has been Treasurer at Derwent Stepping Stones for over 6 years.

Peter Gallimore Peter worked as a journalist in BBC news and current affairs in London for nearly 30 years on programmes like Today and PM on Radio 4 and Radio 5 Live. After leaving the BBC, he became head of Corporate Relations at the University of Derby. Since retiring, he's been a trustee of Stepping Stones for the last four years.
Martin Rawson

Martin Rawson has been a councillor for Derwent ward since 2005. During this time, he has been involved in a wide range of community projects and has taken on a variety of committee roles.

In May 2014, he became Deputy Leader of the Council and assumed responsibility for planning, environment and regeneration across the city.

Heather Dixon

Born and educated in Derby, Heather is now a Partner at Geldards Law, specialising in property development. Heather has been a trustee on the Derwent Stepping Stones Board for over 7 years:

"I'm very proud of DSS team, who never fail to amaze the Board with their dedication and perseverance, often in challenging circumstances. I am passionate about Derby and educating young people. DSS contributes to the early lives of children across Derby helping to improve their chances and ensuring they receive the best start in life in our city. As a parent, and someone who lives and works in Derby, it is rewarding to be part of putting something back into the community."

Louise Curd

Louise is Director of Programmes at Learn By Design, an organisation which delivers a range of programmes that has inspiring young people at their heart. She is passionate about making a difference for people within our local area, having worked in the further education sector locally for over 24 years. She has experience of nursery education, not just as a parent but as the project manager for the creation of a Forest Schools nursery in the local area. She is chair of governers at her local infant and nursery school alongside her role as a trustee at Derwent Stepping Stones.

Emma Twigg

I have very recently become a trustee at Derwent Stepping Stones. My career background has been within the early years;working in a day nursery and then becoming a local authority Childcare Improvement Officer. I currently work as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Derby, teaching on the BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies degree.

Nathalie Walters

Nathalie has more than 7 years' experience of working within the not-for-profit sector. With a background in income generation and business development, for the past 11 years she has held senior management or leadership positions within voluntary sector organisations working to transform the lives of children and young people. Nathalie is currently Chief Executive of Safe and Sound Group, a charity working to combat child sexual exploitation.
